The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred while Yadav was operating a grinder machine to prepare ingredients for Manchurian and Chinese Bhel. The video footage shows his shirt getting caught in the grinder, which was waist-height, as he placed his hand inside. Within moments, he was pulled into the machine.

According to a police officer quoted by The Indian Express, “Mahesh has been working in Mumbai for the past seven years and is employed at the eatery owned by Sachin Kothekar, who provides daily food and accommodation to his employees.”
The officer added that the workers would grind flour and cut vegetables between 11 am and 3 pm in a nearby rented room before selling Chinese dishes at the eatery.
Yadav reportedly lacked prior experience or technical knowledge to operate such equipment. Kothekar had allegedly assigned him the task without providing adequate training or safety measures.
