Rufa Mae Quinto received support from her fans amid her standing arrest warrant for securities violation, which stemmed from her prior endorsement of embattled dermatological company Dermacare.

Quinto’s lawyer, Mary Louise Reyes, earlier confirmed the issuance of a court warrant against the actress for violation of Section 8 of Republic Act 8799.

The said provision prohibits an individual from engaging as a broker, salesman, or any associated person of any dealer when it comes to buying or selling securities unless it’s registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Quinto stressed in an official statement that she would cooperate with the authorities and “face this issue through the proper legal forum.”

The actress-comedian immediately drew messages of support, sharing one coming from Sparkle GMA Artist Center vice president Joy Marcelo through her Instagram Stories.

“Truth will prevail!” the GMA executive declared.

Quinto also reposted an exchange from netizens—originally shared by her legal counsel—in which the actress was commended for showing “accountability” on the matter.

Actress-businesswoman Neri Naig, who was earlier detained for securities violation and estafa charges for endorsing Dermacare as well, was also mentioned in the netizens’ discussion.

“‘Yung ramdam mo ‘yung accountability sa statement niya, and at the same time ‘yung projection na she can f*cking defend herself based on facts and as a person,” one social media user said of Quinto.

Atty. Reyes also added as caption, “This too shall pass.”

Prior to this, Atty. Roberto Labe, the representative of the complainants who filed lawsuits against Naig, disclosed that an unidentified actress and “political figures” are also included in the Dermacare complaints.

Quinto’s lawyer, meanwhile, clarified that the actress-comedian is not involved in a large-scale estafa complaintwow888, which is a non-bailable offense.
