Congress promised financial assistance for Delhi women if voted to power
On Monday, the Congress party announced a proposal ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections – the “Pyari Didi Yojana”. This scheme promises to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women if Congress is voted to power.
Based on a similar initiative in Karnataka, the scheme aims to financially empower women in Delhi. “Today, I have come here to launch the Pyari Didi Yojana. We are confident that a Congress government will be formed in Delhi, and on the first day of the new Cabinet, we will implement the scheme to provide Rs 2,500 to every woman in the capital,” Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivakumar said.
The New Jersey State Police have arrested the driver responsible, who is now charged with vehicular homicide. He is being held at the Salem County Correctional Facility.
"When the team returned home and we announced a training camp for the Asian Champions Trophy, the three informed us that due to domestic issues they wouldn't be able to attend the camp," Mujahid said.
The announcement was made in the presence of Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav and other senior leaders. Meanwhile, the BJP and AAP have intensified their verbal battles launching a series of attacks on each other. On one hand, the BJP keeps targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of corruption and mismanagement, particularly pointing to his ‘Sheeshmahal’. On the other hand, the AAP continues to highlight its focus on development while targeting the BJP’s lack of CM face for Delhi.
Atishi reacts to Ramesh Bidhuri’s remarks on her surname
BJP candidate for Kalkaji, Ramesh Bidhuri, courted controversy on Sunday during the party’s ‘Parivartan Rally’ in Rohini. He made disparaging comments about Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, targeting her surname change from “Marlena” to “Singh.”
“This Marlena (surname used earlier by Atishi) became Singh, changed the name. Kejriwal swore over his children not to go with the corrupt Congress, and Marlena changed father. Earlier, she was Marlena, now she has become Singh. This is their character,” Bhiduri stated.
Delhi CM Atishi, while addressing a press conference on Monday, responded to Bhiduri’s remarks and said, “Will you (Ramesh Bidhuri) do such a dirty thing for the sake of election? He has come down to the situation where he is abusing an old man. I never thought that this country's politics could stoop so low....”

Kejriwal hits back at PM Modi’s criticism
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal responded to PM Narendra Modi’s recent inauguration of two major projects in Delhi, calling them joint ventures between the central and city governments. Taking a dig at his critics, Kejriwal said, “These inaugurations are a reply to those who say AAP only engages in fights.”
Referring to the challenges faced by his party, he claimed AAP leaders were imprisoned and tortured but maintained their focus on governance. “Over the past 10 years, our tenure has shown how we kept work above everything else,” he said.
The former CM further highlighted the 2020 promise made by Modi to repeal certain provisions of the Delhi Land Reform Act, a promise that, according to Kejriwal, remains unfulfilled.”Today, the prime minister kept abusing the people of Delhi and the elected government of Delhi. I was listening to it; it felt bad. The promise made by the prime minister in 2020? The people of Delhi Dehat are still waiting for that to be fulfilled,” he questioned.
He also criticized the delay in notifying the Delhi Master Plan 2041, emphasizing its adverse impact on the city's development.
